Lg cd rom crd 8520b driver update#
As there are people mostly having similar problems also with firmware TN02, the update on that should not work. No wonder, if it is a kernel and GH22NS50 incompatibility problem, then ISOBURN may well retry if could not burn a sector once, but this is an abnormal way of burning something to my mind. I tried ISOBURN under wine, it even burns the DVD, but with several systematic errors (sector not found, retrying etc.) and afterwards some of the files on DVD are unreadable. Similar problem occurs while working directly with growisofs or wodim (in wodim the dev=x,y,z syntax does not work for me, since it is through external card, it only works with dev=/dev/scd0). The key word in the K3B log (see below) is: It reads DVDs well, writes CDs not very well (in K3B only at approx 1.5x speed or so independent on the chosen speed in the dialog box) and does not write DVDs at all. I am using the GH22NS50 device through SATA Promise PCI card. scsi 2:0:0:0: CD-ROM HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH22NS50 TN02 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5Īnd then at the mobo plug the SATA cable on 4th or 5th sata channel.

scsi6 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices sr0: scsi3-mmc drive: 48x/48x writer dvd-ram cd/rw xa/form2 cdda tray Hi, try cheking that you DVD-writer have "pata_atiixp driver" with usr/bin/growisofs -Z /dev/sr0=/dev/fd/0 -use-the-force-luke=notray -use-the-force-luke=tty -use-the-force-luke=tracksize:476 -dvd-compat -speed=8 -use-the-force-luke=bufsize:32m dev/sr0: "Current Write Speed" is 8.2x1352KBps. HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH22NS50 TN01 (/dev/sr0, ) Įxecuting 'builtin_dd if=/dev/fd/0 of=/dev/sr0 obs=32k seek=0' I had to go through the humiliating process of booting to windows, installed the Nero that came with the burner, and it can burn DVDs normally. But when doing the actual writing, both stay idle for a while and then k3b says : "Write Error" and brasero says "unknown error" then when I read the resulting, unusable DVD disk, there are all the files I tried to write on the DVD, but they are cause I/O errors when trying to read them.Įdit: nope, not even nero linux can burn :( It is a very strange issue, they are able to burn CDs, and when I pick to simulate the process, it works. The problem is that now neither k3b or brasero are able to burn DVDs. I just installed a new burner over my old DVD burner + CD burner combo.
